I like to think that fate brought us together.  Davy and I first met half a world away through this amazing medium I call the Internet.  We now live a city apart.  Davy and Manu relocated back to Seattle from Paris a few years ago.  ‘Til this day I’m still at awe at the growth of our friendship.  I’m going to be really sad when they decide to return to Paris one day, but that just means I’ll have to visit Paris and I’m totally down for that!  Davy and Manu are one of my favorite married couple friends who I consider one of my closest friends.  When news broke that they were expecting their first baby, I was elated!  Being the attentive, loving, supportive and super excited husband that he was, Manu also went the extra mile to maintain a baby blog  with photos to document  the pregnancy.  Isn’t that so sweet?  However, they didn’t have photos together and that’s when I offered to take some for them.  I’m grateful as always for the opportunity to document milestones in people’s lives.  Davy was such a trooper during the photoshoot and she looked great for being very pregnant!  These pictures were taken just eight days before the birth of their baby.  I swear Davy could’ve gone into labor that same night if she wanted to.  Well, it’s been almost two months now and I’m happy to report that the new family is doing  great and everyone is healthy.  I can’t wait to finally pay them visit again and hopefully snap some pictures of their newest addition.  Happy parenting you two!

The other day I received an email inquiry and one of the questions was whether I was male or female.  I hope this post answers that question and anyone else’s curiousity =).  I’ve been wanting to have new photos of myself taken to use for my profile (which reminds me I still need to work on).  With the weather all dreary again here in Seattle I wasn’t sure when that was going to happen since I wanted outdoor shots.  Luckily, the sun came out to play last weekend.  I wanted to take advantage of the opportunity so I grabbed my camera , told my husband he was going to be my photographer, and headed over to the UW campus.  I think UW has one of the most beautiful university campuses in the  nation.  Not that I’ve physically been to many, but I just love the architectural style at UW.  Well, I knew that the Fall colors would be in full effect right about now and thought it would be fun to have a photoshoot there.  I’m not the most photogenic person around.  I like being behind the camera more  than in front of it.  When we arrived on campus the Huskies game had just ended so there were fans everywhere.  I was bummed because I thought I’d have to pose in front of all these people walking by.  Surprisingly, the mass of people cleared pretty fast and I thought I did pretty well.  I really love how my pictures turned out.  I SERIOUSLY LOVE THEM!  I have to say that I was quite impressed with Seung.  While I was the subject of the photoshoot I initially had to direct the shoot as well.  After a few snaps Seung got more comfortable, took control and  started telling me what to do instead.  He even convinced me to roll around in the leaves and those happen to be some of my favorite ones.  Okay this isn’t a reason why I love the pictures, but don’t some of them look like images you’d find in an informational pamphlet for prospective students or something?  Due to financial struggles I never got to take real senior portraits back in high school.  I ended up at one of those one hour studio in the mall to get my yearbook picture taken and even that wasn’t cheap.  Something about these pictures… I kind of feel like they’re about ten years  late, LOL.

I just can’t make this post all about myself so here’s a picture of my lovely photographer!  I captured these while testing out the lighting.  This shoot wouldn’t have been possible without him.   Thank you for playing along with me once again =).

BTW, don’t forget to set your clocks back an hour.  Yay, for an extra hour of sleep!  As if it really matter since I sleep in on weekends anyway =P.
