I had the pleasure of photographing Gwen’s lovely bridal shower at a private residence looking out to Lake Washington.  My close friend Pearl hosted the shower and did a beautiful job planning it around a “tea party” theme.  Gwen is now a married woman as I post this.  Congrats!!

I also got to contribute to the delicious food spread.  I’ve been baking a lot lately.  The coconut meringue cupcakes and pink champagne fondant cake were made by…. me!  The hubby helped decorate the cake (he’s got the muscles to work with fondant).  I guess if this photography thing doesn’t work out, I  can always open a bakery!  Just kidding….

A couple of weeks ago I had the opportunity to photograph a one year old birthday party.  When my friend Jen contacted me to photograph her son’s first birthday party I knew it was going to be a fun one.  Jen’s a crafty person and I expected her to go all out with the party.  Jen describes herself as having “hobbies A.D.D.”.  She’s taken classes for sewing, card making, cake decorating and most recently a Photoshop class to accompany her photography obession.  Knowing this I was excited and couldn’t wait to see what Jen had in store.  I love how nicely she incorporated robots into the party.  Everything was just so cute!  For entertainment there was also a puppet show for the kids.  That was a first for me.  To top it off, one  year old Trevor got to do a cake smash.  Oh you know I was totally jealous of him.

Happy birthday Trevor!  I was secretly wishing I was in that high-chair instead.  Hmmm, I’m thinking I should have a cake smash too for my birthday this year.  Yes?  No?  Is there an age limit on that?

I can’t believe the holidays is just around the corner.  I’m so not ready for it.  I’m still wondering where summer went, hah!  The holidays means a lot of things and one of them are the endless parties!  This past Sunday an old friend and once next door neighbor, Meakara, held a pre-holiday event at her shop Private Label Bridal Outlet.  This place is amazing!!  Where was this store when I got married?  I will be referring everyone I know over there because the dresses are affordable beyond belief.  If you’re getting married or just looking for a formal or cocktail dress this shop must be the first place you go.  Meakara will take great care of you.  With the upcoming holidays I know many of you will have parties to go to.  If you still need a dress you still have time to order one from Private Label Bridal Outlet.  I think Meakara can get you a dress in about two weeks.  I want to add you can find beautiful accessories at the shop as well.  All of a sudden I feel like actively looking for parties to go this holiday season.

Well, here are some pictures from the event.  I thought it would be fun to set up a photobooth.  At first people were hesitant to get in front of the camera, but after a few drinks, a mini make-up session and some pretty dresses it turned out to be a hit.  It was an exhausting evening for me since we also had a wedding the night before, but it was nice to mingle with old friends  gain, some whom I haven’t seen in over 10 years!

I decided to set-up a photobooth to add a little extra fun to the night.  The DIY back drop turned out quite nice.  Thanks to my friend Davy for the excellent last minute hemming job!

My younger sister is getting married!  In a week to be exact.  Elisa’s bridal shower was held at Elizabeth & Alexander’s English Tea Room yesterday in Bothell.  It’s a cute little place very fitting for the occasion.  The tea  came perfect with very yummy sides of sandwiches, fruits, crumpet, lemon curd and shortbread.  I want to give a shout out to the staffs who were super helpful and friendly.  I’m sure we were a bit rowdier than their normal everyday patrons.   The bridesmaids that were in-state to participate also did a great job planning the shower as well.  In addition to tea and snacks we also had Trophy Cupcakes!  Please try not to drool as you scroll down =)
