What a treat to be able to capture the Slayton kids again.  Look how big baby Harper is now and she’s walking!   Then again it’s been about a year since I last saw them.  I was surprised Kandice booked me to take family portraits on a Sunday.  I didn’t think anything could pry her away from Sunday football, haha.  Well, I sure hope it was worth it because sessions like these are priceless.  I can’t stop saying what a beautiful and adorable family the Slaytons are.  The session was made further cute because Kandice did an amazing job styling her cute little family for the shoot/location.  It was all of our first times going down to the lighthouse at Discovery Park.  The kids had so much fun running, rolling and sliding around in the grass and meadows.  Baby Harper acted just like one of the boys in her adorable little denim skirt.  Seriously, I can’t stop saying how ADORABLE this family is!  I’m looking forward to capturing more precious moments with this family in the future.  I love my job!

Baby Sabrina is now two years old!   These pictures were taken back in August at Sabrina’s daycare/school playground and at Volunteer Park.  This is just one of many reasons why I love doing what I do.  To be able to document these moments in people’s lives.  She’s just such a special little person and I couldn’t be more happy when her parents contacted me to take photos of Sabrina again.  I just love her adorable and animated cuteness!

I saw a lot of this family the past several months.  Tracy took advantage of my Holiday Special prepaid rates last year and booked three separate shoots.   Third time around the weather was perfect.  Actually, it was quite hot that day but we started early in the morning at the University of Washington campus.  The Quad is one of my favorite places to shoot on campus and the look is so different depending on what time of the year it is.  I love that we get to experience all four seasons here in the great PNW.  I also posted a couple of frames from one of the previous shoots for Baby Vinh’s first birthday and cupcake smash.

I know Talia through work.  Word’s been getting around at work about what I do on the side and one day Talia approached me about having me photographed her family.   When I first met Talia she didn’t have her girls yet and up until the family session I have never met the girls before.  I was excited to meet them finally since I’ve only seen pictures.  Well, we started with some indoor studio shots and then moved outside later on when the sun came out for some fun playtime shots.  Take a look closely and you will find Winnie making a special appearance.

I want to share some pictures I took of this beautiful family way back in March.  The Yoshikawa’s invited me into their home one Sunday morning.  When Kashi and Annabelle wanted to have pictures taken of their new family I thought it would be fun to try something different, to go into their home and have a relaxed and casual session capturing a day (or more like a morning) in the life of the Yoshikawa’s.  I started off capturing dad and baby Ren spending time together while mom got prettied up.  By the time Annabelle was ready to join the fun baby Ren decided he wanted to eat and nap.  Mom, dad and I took this opportunity to chat.  When baby Ren was ready again we resumed.  Unfortunately, the session got cut short right after because I had a camera malfunction.  I was very embarrassed but mainly bummed because the one time I decided to NOT bring my spare camera with me this happened!!  To anyone reading this, I ALWAYS have a back-up camera available at all my shoots.  I didn’t this time because I had just taken the camera I was using in for a cleaning and check-up.  It was a lesson learned.  Anything can go wrong and I know now to always carry that spare camera.  Luckily, the Yoshikawa’s and I are good friends and they were understanding.  The good news is that there will be a Part II!

Baby Ren is such a handsome little fella.  It’s pretty obvious he got his good looks from his parents!

And a happy baby.

Such a gorgeous family.  I’m looking forward to photographing them again.

If you’re interested in booking a similar “a day in the life” session please contact me.  I love capturing moments like these!
